ADA Luxury Apartment with King Bed! J&K on Main

Positive: Fantastic location, really well appointed. We were two guys travelling for business and the two-bedroom apartment was perfect for us. Negative: The $40 non-refundable cleaning fee wasn't advertised at the time of booking (booked through booking.com), which had to be paid after payment to booking.com but was required to get the access information, was a little frustrating, but nonetheless the total cost of our stay was very reasonable.

The Antithesis of Luxury - Cold and Uncomfortable Positive: It was a convenient downtown location as well as spacious and reasonably clean. Negative: “Luxurious” it was not. There was no place to put your suitcase - no luggage racks, no dressers, not even a bench or table in the bedroom to put your suitcase on. I was able to put my packing cubes on shelves in my closet but my traveling companion had to work out of her suitcase on the floor of her bedroom. Then we made the mistake of sitting down on the sofa. Without a doubt, the most uncomfortable piece of furniture we’ve ever encountered. The arm literally was about to fall off and the seat cushions so broken down you felt like you were sitting on the floor. But other than barstools, that was your only seating option. The windows are so poorly installed that they let in a constant draft. Since it was 30 degrees outside it felt like the air conditioning was on and the heating system could not keep up. The apartment was always uncomfortably, even miserably, cold. Speaking of which, the HVAC system requires an engineering degree to figure out. They had an instruction sheet mounted on the wall but the print was so tiny it was illegible. The beds were reasonably comfortable but mine sloped to the center and the duvet cover on my companion’s was stained and musty smelling. There were many other annoyances such as no dish strainer in the kitchen, limited towel bar space and no hooks in the bathrooms to hang a robe, and no Kleenex. We got a nice message from Jake our first morning offering to get us anything we needed. When we asked for Kleenex he replied that they don’t provide it, offering more toilet paper instead. I guess that’s his idea of luxury. Finally, downtown parking is atrocious. In addition to the cost, simply finding a place to park for more than a couple of hours was nearly impossible. In fact, we were unable to find overnight parking so we took our chances and parked illegally on the street.

Host was excellent, responsive and friendly. Great instructions for everything regarding the property. The place was great! Would highly recommend this property and this host!
